Born in Arnsberg (Germany), Georg Poplutz graduated in English and Music Education at the Universities of Münster and Dortmund. During the course of his studies, he also received vocal lessons, and in 2002, he decided to concentrate on singing. He started studying voice with Berthold Possemeyer at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt / Main and took his excellent diploma. He furthered his studies with Christoph Prégardien at the Academy of Music Cologne, and in 2007, he finished with the concert exam. Currently, he works with Carol Meyer-Bruetting in Frankfurt.

In 2004, he has been recommended by the VDKC (GermanConcertChoirs´Society) and he was supported by "Yehudi Menuhin LiveMusicNow“ until 2007.

In 2009, he received the Frankfurt Mendelssohn Award.

His concert repertoire has taken Georg Poplutz into engagements to many German cities as well as to many European Countries, and further afield to China, Mexico, Singapur, and throughout Southern Africa, and to recordings for radio stations and CD-productions. With the "Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble" and Arno Paduch as well as with "Cantus Cölln" and Konrad Junghänel he attends to the music of the 16th to 18th century. He performed at notable festivals and leading concert halls and worked with conductors including Marcus Creed, Werner Ehrhardt, Matthias Jung, Tonu Kaljuste, Helmut Müller-Brühl, Peter Neumann, Ralf Otto, Ralf Popken, Wolfgang Schäfer, Michael Schneider, Winfried Toll, and Roland Wilson. Song recitals with his piano partner Hilko Dumno and DVD- and CD-recordings complete his musical activities.

In 2011, Poplutz sang the arias in Bach´s "Matthäuspassion" during the tournee with Rias-Kammerchor and Hans-Christoph Rademann at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and he can also be heard in St. Michaelis, Hamburg, in concert hall and Gedächtniskirche, Berlin, in Cologne Philharmonie, in Frauenkirche, Dresden, in Alte Oper Frankfurt, during the "Tage Alter Musik" in Herne and Regensburg among other places as well as in Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.

Après son examen de professeur de musique et d’anglais, le ténor Georg Poplutz, né à Arnsberg en Allemagne, a étudié le chant aussi bien au Conservatoire de musique de Francfort/Main qu’à celui de Cologne. En 2007, il a terminé avec succès ses études auprès de Berthold Possemeyer et de Christoph Prégardien par un examen de concert. Il a obtenu en 2009 le prix Mendelssohn de Francfort.

Dans la discipline de l’oratorio, ses concerts mènent Georg Poplutz dans de nombreuses villes allemandes, dans beaucoup de pays d´Europe ainsi qu’en Chine, au Mexique, à Singapour et en Afrique du Sud. Lors de ces voyages, il a travaillé entre autres avec Marcus Creed, Werner Ehrhardt, Georg Grün, Ludwig Güttler, Philippe Couvert, Benoît Haller, Matthias Jung, Tonu Kaljuste, Helmut Müller-Brühl, Peter Neumann, Ralf Otto, Ralf Popken, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Wolfgang Schäfer, Michael Schneider, Winfried Toll et Roland Wilson. C’est avec le „Johann Rosenmüller Ensemble“, sous la direction d’Arno Paduch, et avec „Cantus Cölln“ de Konrad Junghänel qu’il se consacre à la musique du 16e au 18e siècle. Il propose des récitals de Lied en compagnie du pianiste Hilko Dumno. Des productions pour CD et DVD viennent compléter son activité musicale.

Georg Poplutz se produit régulièrement comme interprète d’oratorios dans des festivals renommés et dans les grandes salles de concert, et il se fait particulièrement connaître pour ses interprétations de l´Évangéliste. Cette année, il se produira à Concertgebouw Amsterdam, à la Salle de Concert de Berlin, à l’Église Notre-Dame de Dresde, au Vieil Opéra de Francfort, à l’Église St. Michel de Hambourg, aux Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele ainsi qu´en Autriche, au Danemark, en Estonie, en France, en Espagne, aux Pays-Bas et en Suisse.
